How Do You Plan an Outdoor Wedding?

By: Jerry Leung

With the natural backdrops such as trees, an outdoor wedding can be something very beautiful. And this is one of the reasons why couples choose to hold an outdoor wedding. However, an outdoor wedding can be a lot different from an indoor one. You need to plan it with the greatest care. Here are some of the issues you may need to consider.

For a wedding, the very first thing you need to consider is the wedding date. If you decide to have an outdoor event, you can consider a time that the weather tends to be more stable. Sudden changes in weather can be a great challenge to your wedding planning and in order to play safe you would not choose a time that is likely to have sudden changes in weather.

As in the case of an indoor wedding, you need to find a location and venue for your wedding. Since the success of an outdoor wedding partly depends on the weather, you will need to search for a place that can provides you with shelters in the case of storm and raining. Of course this is only for your contingency plan and your original plan should stick to the notion of being in an outdoor place.

When we talk about the shelters, it is also essential even if it is sunny on your wedding day. The sunshine can be too strong that your guests may feel too hot and uncomfortable. This is especially true when you are holding a beach wedding. The shelters can provide some shading to your guests. If there are no fixed shelters in the location you choose. You can rent a shelter so that you, all well as your guests can be protected from the sun.

It will be unavoidable that the temperature will be quite high on your wedding day if you plan to hold it in summer. And this might be the only choice if you are planning to hold a beach wedding. Because of the high temperature your guests will probably sweat a lot. In this case you have to make sure that you can provide enough drinks for them. Plenty of distilled water is always a good idea since it is the best kind of drink in summer.

About the wedding itself, you will probably prepare some music for it. In an indoor environment, hiring a wedding DJ to play the music and songs, with his or her synthesizer can be a wonderful idea. For an outdoor one, a live band will be preferred. You may not want a band that plays classical music. Instead, you may want to hire a band which plays more relaxing music, in order to heat up the atmosphere. A band with Pilipino style can be a good choice.

An outdoor wedding can be very moody and romantic if it is held properly. In fact planning for it should not be very difficult. The key of planning a wedding, no matter it is an indoor or an outdoor one, is to allow yourself enough time to plan and prepare. You should plan your wedding as soon as you decide to get married.
